The plus indicates his boy parts! To the left is his leg and to the right is the umbilical cord.

The circle also shows his boy parts - this is a side view. The dark spots to the right of the circle are internal organs - how cool is that!

This is a side view of baby's head - everything looks great!

This is a top view of baby's head with his hands in front. You can actually see the two hemispheres of the brain - I'm sooo amazed by that.

This one is pretty neat. His legs are crossed, with one at a side view and the other head on. You can also see the leg bones here. Amazing!
I'm at 33 weeks now and doing okay. The baby's moving all the time now, and sometimes he squirms or kicks hard enough that you can see my tummy move from the outside - very cool! I'm getting to where I can tell when he's sleeping, awake but resting or very, very active. He already has a schedule and keeps to it pretty faithfully. I've also felt him practicing breathing (hiccuping) and peddling his feet (practice for walking). It's so much fun!
Our appointments are going well and the pregnancy is progressing very nicely. All's well with my weight, gluclose and protein levels and the fibroid (a.k.a Hugo) is out of the baby's way for now. We've been going once a month to see the midwives, but we'll go twice this month, then every week in the ninth. He seems to be hanging out in a breech position right now (or at least he was a week ago at our last appt.) We have several more weeks to get him to turn and are trying some passive things to encourage him to do so. If he still doesn't turn within the next couple of weeks we'll try some acupuncture and/or chiropractic manipulation. There's still time, so we're not that worried - who knows, he may keep us guessing till the very end, and if he's like his parents, he'll be a procrastinator as well!
I had a bad cold last week that has unfortunately turned into a sinus infection. I feel pretty lousy, but am taking antibiotics now and hopefully things will get back to normal soon. It's not all that uncommon for that to happen after a cold since my nasal passages are more swollen and my immune system is slower in pregnancy (don't want to reject the baby!) Colds or infections don't seem to harm the baby any, they just make his eight-month pregnant mommy miserable! Kevin seems to have caught a more minor version of my cold, so hopefully he'll get better soon as well. Otherwise, he's doing great and is very excited about becoming a daddy! We're both very excited to see the peanut and to go through the experience of birth. He's been a great supporter and sympathizer while I go through my pregnancy, and I know he'll be a great coach during the labor as well.

The baby's room is coming along nicely with the addition of the crib, rocker and rug. The rocker is so nice and comfortable!

We may rearrange the room at some point and still have to add the finishing touches, but are happy with the progress. I would like to finish within the next couple of weeks and will post pics (hopefully soon!) of the completed nursery. We have also recently finished our Bradley class and feel we learned quite a bit about birth, labor and working together as a team. We are also in touch with the other expecting parents and hope to create a community for advice and support.
That's it for now - hope everyone is well and we'll post more stuff soon!
