Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, it's finally cold enough down here to feel like fall. Highs in the 50's today. Last couple of days have been in the 80's, which has been great, but it didn't really feel like fall. Anna and I are having a small Thanksgiving dinner for just the two of us: 10 lb turkey, potato filling (of course), Anna's famous cranberry-chestnut stuffing, green bean casserole, pumpkin & apple pies. We figure it'll be the last time we get have Thanksgiving to ourselves for many years. Originally my mom and Ron were supposed to come down, but Ron's mother was very ill, so they had to cancel. It looks like she's on the mend now, so while we'll miss them, it's good to hear she's doing better.

Sam's looking forward to his turkey dinner (which will basically consist of all the turkey parts that we don't want to eat). Who am I kidding; he'd be just as happy with hot dogs. That's the great thing about Sam; he's easy to please.

We'll probably eat dinner about 3pm and just chill out here for the rest of the day, maybe go for a walk later on. Sam will be just as excited about the walk as he will be about a turkey dinner, probably more so. Then we'll have to go to bed early so that we can wake up tomorrow at 4am when the stores open. Then we'll laugh thinking about all those people shopping, then go back to bed.

So I heard the baby kick for the first time yesterday! I had my ear pressed up to Anna's belly, not expecting anything in particular, when I heard a dull thud. Anna said that the baby just kicked, and was surprised that I could hear it. He kicked once more that I could hear, then the show was over; he was done. Pretty soon I'll be able to feel them as well.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! For those of you in Maryland, we'll see you soon for Christmas. Send me your lists as soon as you can.
